Policy
Nondiscrimination policy
Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc. serves seniors 60+ with dignity, respect and fairness.
Effective October 26, 2026
Our policy
Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc. does not, by policy or practice, discriminate against a person or group on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, military or veteran status, or based on any individual’s status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
Who our program serves
Our moving program serves seniors 60+. Serving older adults is the charitable purpose of Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc., and age 60 or older is the eligibility requirement for every program service, including standard-rate, sliding-scale and grant-funded moves. We use age 60 because it is the age the federal Older Americans Act uses to define an older individual, and the IRS recognizes older adults as a charitable class.
Defining the group a charity serves is not discrimination, in the same way many programs serve only children or only families. We apply the 60+ requirement the same way to everyone, using a photo ID or other document that shows date of birth, and we never use it as a reason to treat any person differently for any other reason. When someone under 60 contacts us, we treat them with the same courtesy and help them find other resources, such as Idaho 211.
Senior veterans 60+
Our moving program serves seniors 60+, the charitable class defined by our IRS-recognized mission and the Older Americans Act age. Senior veterans 60+ are served on the same basis as every senior and are eligible for our general assistance funds. In addition, they have access to our Senior Veterans Fund, made up of gifts and grants given specifically for veterans. When a senior veteran’s move qualifies for help, Senior Veterans Fund dollars are used first, which also leaves more general funds available for other seniors. Among those we serve, and in all employment, volunteer and board decisions, we do not discriminate on any basis protected by law. Policy: summitpathways.org/

No one is ever required to accept a particular belief, make a donation, or meet any condition unrelated to our program to receive services.
