What a gift does

$795 covers one standard 4-hour move for a senior 60+.

For gifts of $250 or more, we send a written acknowledgment for your client’s records.

We can’t give tax or legal advice. Your client’s own advisor is the right person for that.

Gift options

The ways clients most often give

Donor advised fund grants

Recommend a grant to Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc., EIN 33-2628196. Most sponsors, such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, and community foundations, can find us by EIN.

  • “Where it is needed most” is the simplest grant purpose.
  • DAF grants can’t be used to pay for sponsor recognition, event tickets, or anything your client receives in return.
  • Sponsors can take a couple of weeks to send a grant, and longer in December.

IRA gifts (QCD)

For clients 70½ or older, a qualified charitable distribution goes straight from a traditional IRA to us. The IRS limit for 2026 is $111,000 per person.

  • The IRA custodian sends the gift directly, payable to Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc., EIN 33-2628196, 11484 W Allegro St, Nampa, ID 83651.
  • Please let us know it’s coming. Custodian checks sometimes arrive without the donor’s name.
  • To count for 2026, the gift has to leave the IRA by December 31.

Under IRS rules, a QCD can count toward a required minimum distribution and isn’t included in taxable income. QCDs can’t go to donor advised funds. Your client’s tax advisor can confirm how this applies.

Stock and other assets

Please email us before a transfer so we can send current transfer instructions and watch for the gift. That way it arrives safely and we can thank your client.

Bequests and beneficiary gifts

Sample wording for a will or trust:

“I give to Summit Pathways Foundation, Inc., an Idaho nonprofit corporation, 11484 W Allegro St, Nampa, ID 83651, EIN 33-2628196, the sum of $____ (or ____ percent of my estate) for its general purposes.”

For an IRA, retirement plan, life insurance, or account beneficiary form, use our legal name and EIN. If your client tells us about a planned gift, we’ll keep it private unless they say otherwise.

Timing

Year-end gifts

Custodians and DAF sponsors get busy in December. Starting gifts early in the month helps them arrive on time.

If a gift is time sensitive, email us and we’ll watch for it.

Sheets for your clients
